2D wakes early one morning, to the sound of crashing and banging, filtering it's way, through his bedroom door, from the car park outside. The young man yawns and stretches, rubbing his eye holes, and ruffling his bright blue hair vigorously, as he slides his legs from under his blankets, and places his feet on the floor. Opening the bedside table drawer, he takes out a bottle of painkillers, and shakes a few into his palm. Lifting his head sharply, as something rather heavy sounding, bangs loudly against his door, and the muffled sound of swearing reaches his ears.
Wot is he doin' now? 2D mumbles to himself, tossing the pills down his throat and swallowing them down, with a glass of water. He reaches down to a pair of jeans lying on the floor beside the bed, and slides them on. Then stands and walks to the door, taking his dressing gown from the hook on the back of the door, and putting it on, as he unlocks and opens it. His eyes focus immediately on an object, sailing through the air, directly towards his face, and the Keyboardist drops to the ground, covering his head. Ahhh! he yelps, as the object bounces into his room, and crashes into his bed. He stands up and turns his head sharply round, to look at what had almost hit him. Seeing it was part of an old amplifier case, then turning back, can see a large wooden crate, and in front of it, two long disembodied legs. 2D wraps the dressing gown round him, and ties it in place with the cord, walking directly over to the box and legs, just as a torso rises from the inside of the box, as Murdoc stands up, with an old car part in his hand. The Bassist studies it for a moment, then tosses it over his shoulder, once again in 2Ds direction, the young man ducks sideways, to avoid being hit. Once again, the old man bends over, diving almost head first back into the box, to continue looking.
Allo Muds. Wotcha doin'? He asks. Murdoc stops riffling around for a moment, and the car park falls completely silent. The Bassist sighs heavily, the sound echoing loudly from inside of the box. He begins shuffling objects again, not even bothering to stop and look up to the young man, to answer him.
Fishin'. What's it look like. The Bassist grumbles, he straightens up a little, as he pulls up another object to look at, shrugs and tosses it as well. 2D ducks again, and decides to move to a safer spot beside the box. Murdoc lifts his head a little, and narrows his eyes watching the young man, before returning to his search. 2D nods silently and steps closer, holding on to the edge with his hands, and looking about inside the box, to see what the Bassist is looking for.
For wot? He asks, reaching inside to pull something out, for a closer look. Murdoc reaches out and slaps the Keyboardists hand hard, making him drop the object, and jerk his hand away, holding it to his chest and rubbing the back of it, with his other hand.
Git outta it, ya bastard. The old man grumbles, standing up and pulling his fist back threateningly. 2D high steps away, covering the back of his head, and yelping an apology. Then seeing as Murdoc has returned to his box, slows and returns his hands to his sides, walking out into the lobby corridor, to head to the toilets.
Later at breakfast, 2D is eating a bowl of cereal, when Murdoc walks in and sits down at his favorite spot, at the end of the table. He reaches forwards, and takes a bottle of Scotch from the center of the table. Opening it and tipping his head back, almost sculling the contents in one go.
Didja find wot you woz lookin' for Muds? 2D asks, pointing his spoon at the old man. Murdoc drops his head forwards a little, and eyes him suspiciously, then takes the bottle from his lips and wipes them, with the back of his hand.
Yep. Not that it's any of yers. He grumbles, and standing up, walks to the balcony for some peace and quiet. 2D sighs heavily, as he watches the Bassists exit. He continues eating for a moment, then suddenly gets a creeping sensation, run down the back of his neck, he sits up straight in the chair, and turns to look at Russel, at the other end of the table. Russel is staring hard back at him, his brow furrowed so hard, that his heavy eyebrows are actually touching in the middle, above the bridge of his nose.
Wot's dat cracker up to now? Russel grumbles, clenching a tiny fork in his huge meaty hand. 2D looks down at the fork, and almost instantly, imagines his head in place of it, his thin body, crushed between the large chunky fingers of the huge American. He gulps involuntarily, and awkwardly smiles at the large man, showing the gap in his front teeth. Russel tips his head to his shoulder slightly, and flexes his fingers on the utensil.
Um, I dunno Russ. He woz down in the car park, goin' through a big box. The keyboardist replies, looking down into his cereal, and stirring it nervously with his spoon. Russel grunts and sits back in his chair, digging the fork into a strip of bacon on his plate, and shoveling it into his mouth. 2D shudders and continues eating his own breakfast, trying to ignore the large man.
After breakfast, 2D walks back through the lobby, heading back to his room, to collect his toiletries, and have a quick shower, before heading out for the day. He and Murdoc, had been invited to do a radio show, giving the fans the oportunity to ask and have questions answered by the two of them. The Keyboardist had actually mentioned he had been looking forward to it, and wanted to make sure he looked good for the day. Not that anyone listening to the show, would know any better. He steps into the large open area, and sees the large box has disappeared, Murdoc is also no where to be seen, and for a moment, the young man finds this to be a little ominous. But he quickly shrugs it off, and turns the corner, to head to his room. Immediately, he sees a problem.
It appears as though, all the strange odds and ends, that had been in the box, that the Bassist had been riffling through, have now been piled high against his door, barring his way into the room. 2D jerks to a stop, and lifts his hand slowly, pointing to the large pile of rubbish, and looking rapidly around the area.
Awww, that's not right. Why... who? He drops his hand, and walks over to the door, slumping his shoulders, and reaching down to pull something away from it. Why do I feel the need ta ask who? It's obvious who. He grumbles, slowly working his way through the pile.
Half an hour later, 2Ds door is finally revealed. The young man breathes a heavy sigh of relief and wipes his sweaty brow. Murdoc and Russel, walk into the car park, and head to the Geep.
Time to go D! Murdoc calls, with an evil grin spread across his face. 2D looks up and back down at himself, covered from head to foot, in dirt and sweat.
Awww no! Wait! I gotta go take a shower, and get changed. 2D calls back, grabbing his toiletries, and a towel. Murdoc walks part of the way back, to catch the young man, as he races from the room.
Tsk. Now D, you should've already been ready, and now we're late. Me and RRRRuss, will do the show, you just take yer time. I'm sure the opportunity will come round again.... eventually. Heh, heh. The Bassist sneers, and turning on his heel, walks confidently back to the Geep. 2D lowers his head sadly, as he watches the car drive away, slowly turning around, and heading back to his room.
Two hours later, Murdoc and Russel return, parking the car in it's usual spot and climbing out. Russel walks off, grumbling something about, Murdoc being a 'pain in dah ass.' The Bassist chuckles to himself, and heads to the Winnie, as he approaches, he walks deliberately further round, to look towards 2Ds door. The large pile of junk, he'd taken from the box, to block the door in with, has vanished. The Bassist, shrugs and mumbles a sarcastic thank you, returning to his journey to the Winnie. He unlocks the door and opens it.
The Desk Jockey Demon, is shocked from his boredom, by a very loud crash. Curious, he heads to the car park, given this is where the sound came from, and opening the corridor door. Steps in and looks around the large area, thinking perhaps, there has been a car accident, or something similar. He looks towards 2Ds room, and sees nothing unusual, then walks back towards the Winnie. He finds that, apart from a large pile of rubbish, directly in front of Murdocs door, once again, there is nothing unusual. The small Demon shrugs, and heads back to his desk. A small croaking voice, filters it's way from under the pile of rubbish, in front of Murdocs door.
When I git my hands on that little blue freak....
